A modern winter sports resort, Bardonecchia offers all snow aficionados more than 100 km of slopes divided into two areas: Colomion, Les Arnauds and Melezet with their broad woodland slopes, and Jafferau, famous for its unsurpassable mountain views.
What`s more, Olympic half pipe, the snowpark and long stretches of snow-covered slopes, unfold from the tops of the mountains to drop down to the woods encircling the town, and make Bardonecchia a veritable skiers` paradise.
Cross-country skiers can use the big loop of Pian del Colle and the nearby Decauville that starts off not far from the Hotel Jafferau. Ski mountaineering and snow-shoeing can be done on a variety of trails at different altitudes.
There`s also snowtubing, ice-skating, ice-climbing and winter biking throughout the winter in the heart of Bardonecchia.
